2.- HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL from the airport Schiphol?
The best way to travel from the airport to the hotel is, of course, by taxi ( € 45.-).
ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT: ALWAYS ASK the taxi driver how much the charge will be...BEFORE you enter the taxi!
A second option: Take the train to Amsterdam Centraal, and from there a taxi (± € 12.- ALWAYS ASK !!! ) or tram 16, 24 & 25 until Keizersgracht (4th stop) and then walk one block to the left.
A third option: the airport shuttle until Rembrandtplein.
3.- Is there FREE HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION in every room?
Not only that! On request, we even lend you one of our 2 guest lap tops... FOR ± 1 HOUR, FREE OF CHARGE, of course.
4.- Is there AIR CONDITIONING in this house of ... 1710 ?
You certainly may not expect airco in such a small historic canal house, but - surprisingly enough - there is air conditioning in all of our rooms...
As an enlightened and thoughtful citizen of the world you hardly ever will need it, because Amsterdam is NOT YET - a town in Africa or Florida... but still in Northern Europe, with its moderate climate.
5.- Is there a HAIR DRYER in the room?
What do you expect?
6.- Is there an ELEVATOR in this 300 year old canal house? NO!
But you will have the pleasure of climbing up A VERY NARROW AND STEEP STAIRCASE - as can be expected in such a historic canal house. A UNIQUE AND ESSENTIAL AMSTERDAM EXPERIENCE...
...of course NOT FOR DISABLED AND ELDERLY PERSONS, also NOT for those adventurous guests who need to travel with huge and heavy "emigration & immigration" suitcases, but feel not strong enough to carry them up by themselves - NEITHER DO WE...
To leave nobody in doubt: There is absolutely no one who can carry your luggage up the extremely steep & narrow staircase. Anyway, you certainly would not expect a 70 year old person to assist you with this challeging and rather artistic job...
